Steve and Kristy Smith - Kristy: songs, voice, guitar, ukulele, piano, harmonica Steve: drums, voice, engineering, mixing

Kristy and Steve both own and teach at the Seattle Drum School of Music which has branches in North Seattle and Georgetown (South Seattle).  For twenty years they have enjoyed playing in bands together and still do.  Recently, however, they created a duo with the idea that rehearsing and recording would be made easier by the fact that they live and work together.  They record in their own studio at the Seattle Drum School of Music North where Steve is also the engineer. In March of 2012 they released an EP titled “All the Light”, following that with a single called “Sunshine After Rain” in April of the same year.  They have just released a 12 song CD also titled "All the Light" which will thrill and charm you with it's simple arrangements, brilliant lyrics, crystalline vocals and solid musicianship.

“Steve and Kristy Smith” play in and around the Seattle area including a monthly show in Shoreline at Darrell’s Tavern where they share the bill with Billy Moon and the 350s.  They have also opened for such acts as Chicago, Little Feat and most recently LeRoy Bell and His Only Friends.

Their former band 3 Track Mind (also featuring Jen Todd and Kevin Jones) opened for Joan Baez (Seattle Opera House) as well as Roseanne Cash (Woodland Park Zoo Tunes).  Another former band Billy Moon (also featuring Alan Paisley and Bruce Hazen) opened for Crash Test Dummies (Showbox at the Market) and Bernie Taupin (Fenix Underground)and played the second stage at the Gorge for shows featuring Sting, Bonnie Raitt, Dave Matthews and more.  Kristy and Steve both appeared in Mare Winningham's band in the movie "Georgia" (also starring Jennifer Jason-Lee).  Kristy co-wrote a song, "Falling for Me" which appears in the film and on the soundtrack of the Sylvester Stallone movie "Driven" and in the tv shows Get Real and Roswell.  Kristy's song "Hate Kills" (recorded 3 Track Mind) is in an HBO special "Paul Rodriguez - Live from San Quentin".  And Kristy's songs recorded with Billy Moon have appeared in several indie films.

Today this husband and wife duo present a simple, honest and touching musical experience for both creator and listener and they plan to continue doing so for many years to come. Enjoy!
